Dr. Alejandro Martinez is originally from Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. He graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry at the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon, received honorable mention in his specialty in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the “Hospital Regional 20 de Noviembre” in Mexico City.

He completed his specialty training in Orthognathic Surgery and Temporomandibular Joint in the post-graduate of Maxillofacial Surgery, University of Florida, Gainsville Florida campus (July, 1989 – June, 1990). He completed his residency in the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Boston and the University of Minnesota.

From 1990 to current, Dr. Martinez has been a professor of Oral Surgery at the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo Leon School of Dentistry and Professor of Orthognathic Surgery and Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction in Post-Graduate Orthodontics, Faculty of Dentistry UANL.
In 2010, Dr. Martinez was the external lecturer at the graduate program for Maxillofacial Surgery at UANL.

Dr. Martinez is the author of several medical publications at the national and international levels. He has appeared as a guest speaker at numerous medical conferences and universities in Mexico and abroad. His experience spans 24 years of private practice and consultation in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Dr. Martinez is former President of the Mexican Council of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (November 2009 to November 2012) and continues to be a member of the association.

Dr. Martinez is former president of the Latin American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Traumatology (2011-2013).
International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery (IAOMS) Councellor for the Oral Maxillofacial and Trauma Surgery Latinamerican Association (ALACIBU).
